Masonry Brickwork Restoration and Cleaning with High-Temperature Steam

Masonry, brickwork restoration and cleaning requires using a method that does not cause any damage to the substrate. Wickens Dry Ice Blasting uses the DOFF Integra System to clean stonework and masonry using high-temperature steam. DOFF is a steam-based cleaning system that can achieve temperatures of up to 150°C at the nozzle end – making it a ‘superheated water system’.

The superheated water vapor system effectively removes paint, moss, algae, fungi, biological matter, and will also kill off spores. No harmful chemicals are used during the cleaning process and after being used outdoors, the debris needs to be separated from the water and disposed of in accordance with local regulations. The water, however, simply runs into the ground.

DOFF cleaning can be used to clean difficult stains and weathered surfaces in conjunction with JOS cleaning.
